GIVEAWAY: Calgary Home & Garden Show
The Calgary Home & Garden Show is coming to the BMO Centre this Thursday, February 28 and going on until Sunday, March 3. There are going to be hundreds of exhibitors addressing all your home renovating, decorating and gardening needs!
Obviously, this is a food blog and I’m more excited about Food Truck Alley and the Food Truck throwdown happening on Saturday, March 2 at 10:30 AM, where two food truck chefs go head-to-head with garden party-themed dishes they created just for the show! I’m also excited because I will actually be doing a presentation on the Main Stage on Sunday, March 3 at 5 PM on behalf of Passion for Pork, so come on down to learn how to make some quick and healthy pork dishes!
I have three (3) pairs of tickets to give away. To enter, simply leave a comment with your favourite pork dish below. Get a second chance to win by tweeting:
I want to go to @HomeShowsAB with @VincciT and @PassionforPork! Come with me! http://t.co/nygbP0WaNG #yyc #giveaway
Contest closes on Tuesday, February 26 at 11:59 PM and I will get the tickets out to the winners by Wednesday just in time to enjoy the show. Good luck and see you there!
PS: I’m giving away more tickets on Calgary is Awesome and the Passion for Pork Facebook page.

My favourite pork dish would be the Japanese Tonkatsu!!

I love sweet & sour pork dishes!

I think my fav. pork dish would have to be stuffed mushrooms featuring bacon and onions. Crisp up the bacon and then cook onions in the leftover bacon fat. Mix into cream cheese and stuff hulled out mushrooms. Bake mushroom goodness until juices run. Absolutely fabulous. The bacon makes it perfect.

Pork Belly… prepared any way…

Best pork dish: Korean bbq ‘Sam Gyup Sal’ which loosely translates to ‘three layers of flesh’. It’s kind of like making a meal out of bacon, but hiding it’s salted fattiness in wraps of various foliage, radish, kim chi, white bean paste, and raw garlic. Fun finger food you can dress as you like.
